Psychosocial Workshops:

That focuses on building happy relationships among educators within a school setting or coworkers within a corporate setting. The aim is to improve occupational health; conflict management; stress management; goal setting and motivation; increasing productivity; building self-esteem and assertiveness.

Psychological Talks & Training Workshops:

The idea behind providing the parents / caregivers with training is to create a positive and collaborative partnership between the educators and parents to adequately support the learner. Workshops can be tailored to suit the needs of the parents. Possible examples of Psychological Talks and workshops include, how to handle bullying, understanding my child who has ADHD, Psychological Importance of being a parent (behaviour management, quality time etc.) and many more

Learner Workshops:

These workshops are specifically tailored to suit learners of various grades and ages. These workshops cover a variety of important topics that young adults experience. The aim of the workshops is to provide these learners with important knowledge and skills on how to navigate their different developmental transitions. Possible topics include Stress management, Dealing with Adjustment, Body Image, Self-Esteem, Study Skills, etc.

LEARNING SUPPORT SERVICES

Study skills: this is needed to be able to study and learn effectively – they are an important set of transferable (“handy”) life skills. However, these skills are not regularly taught in school. Good study skills can increase your child’s confidence, competence, and self-esteem. They can also reduce anxiety about tests and exams. We offer a 6 session program that encompasses core skills, including time management, goal setting, developing appropriate study habits as well as memory tips and techniques amongst other important skills

FEES

The practice is contracted out of medical aid. This means that payment will need to be settled with the practice and an invoice will be provided for medical aid reimbursement. Kindly contact the practice for a full fee structure

Tanya van den Berg

Educational Psychologist

I am Tanya van den Berg, an educational psychologist with a decade of teaching experience in both government and private school settings. In addition to my professional life, I am a proud wife and mother to a wonderful daughter. My academic journey included postgraduate studies at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ), where I developed a strong foundation in educational psychology, further enriched by a tailor-made internship designed to deepen my practical expertise.

I have a particular passion for assessment, as I find great fulfilment in uncovering the unique learning profiles of individuals. In addition to assessments, I provide therapy to clients, offering a safe and supportive space to address emotional, social, and behavioural challenges. My aim is to empower individuals and help them achieve meaningful growth in both their personal and educational journeys

Educational Psychologist

Lufuno Belinda Netshimbolimbo Educational Psychologist and Registered Counselor with deep love for South African incredibly diverse children and families.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents and young adults, I prefer to use an integrative holistic therapeutic approach. I believe that each client is unique, and my approach is therefore tailored accordingly to serve each client’s distinctive needs. I work alongside individuals and their families to achieve their full potential.

Services include play therapy, school readiness assessments, educational psychological assessments, concession assessments, subject choice and career guidance, study skills and psychotherapy.

I consult in English with a diversity of individuals from all backgrounds.

RAYHANAH HASSIM

Educational Psychologist

I am an Educational Psychologist who offers both assessment and therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. I follow a holistic approach when working with clients, ensuring the best outcome. Working collaboratively within the relevant systems, allows me to establish support structures and develop sustainable interventions for my clients.  

Assessments are conducted in person at the practice.
Therapy consults are offered either face to face or virtually via Teams.
I also offer supervision for students currently completing their Masters qualification as well as Psychologists in their Internship. I am a Supervisor for Educational Psychology students at the University of Johannesburg.

I offer a safe and nurturing space to listen and contain, to explore any challenges you may be experiencing, to assist in helping you seek a different perspective, to find direction and meaning in your life or simply to guide you in being your most authentic self.

My aim is to enrich my clients’ lives and leave them feeling understood, empowered, and upskilled.
